Getting Started on LinkedIn & How to Optimise the platform.
We all know the growing popularity of Instagram and TikTok for raising the awareness of your business, but LinkedIn can often be overlooked especially for B2B companies. Studies suggest that many businesses don’t optimise the full potential of this platform.
The power of LinkedIn, however, should not come as a surprise with “875M members” and “59M companies” on the platform. But, to take advantage of this opportunity you need to know how to optimise the platform.
GETTING STARTED ON LINKEDIN:

Link to your company page
Once your page is complete, make sure all employees update their job descriptions so that they now link to your company page. This is important for long-term growth, credibility and building a strong community on the platform.
Have a content plan
Part of optimising LinkedIn comes from starting with a clear content plan that outlines your platform goal, content focus, post frequency, and how to your measure success. A tip when it comes to planning your content on LinkedIn is that high-quality and engaging content performs the best. For instance, LinkedIn posts with images get double the engagement than other post formats. As for measuring your success, you need to choose metrics that align with your goal. These may be likes, impressions, comments/shares, click-through rate, followers, or engagement.
Share your content
Encourage others to share your businesses content! One of the greatest parts about LinkedIn is the ability for employees, family, or friends to re-share your businesses posts. Organically, this helps to improve awareness, and reach a wider audience. This works well especially if you’re a small-to-medium sized company – the more people who know about you, the better!
Connect to your website
Make sure you connect your business’ LinkedIn page to your website, as well as sharing your website content and links on your page. You might have a selection of informative blogs on your website but be sure to also share these on your LinkedIn. By doing this, if someone searches for your brand on google, your LinkedIn page is also likely to appear!
Invite Connections to follow
On your company page as an admin, you can also invite your personal connections to follow and interact with your business page. It can be a great way to build up your following and awareness. But don’t forget that consistent, and engaging content is critical for long-term success on the platform.
LinkedIn Paid Ads
If you’re already taking advantage of all the tips we’ve spoken about above, it might be a great idea to utilise paid ads. LinkedIn offers targeted advertising for business accounts which is a great way to reach an ideal audience and achieve a specific goal. The forms of advertising are based on awareness, consideration, and conversion. However, as with advertising on any platform, it’s important to ensure your objective and ad content/type correlate to ensure a healthy return on investment (ROI).
